Turmeric

Turmeric has been long used in Eastern medicines for its numerous health benefits, such as anti-inflammatory properties and its ability to reduce risk of brain and heart disease. Fresh turmeric should be prepared similar to fresh ginger; peel the skin off with a small knife or spoon, then slice, grate or mince the orange flesh. Turmeric can be used in an endless number of ways - in curries, brewed in tea, grated into a smoothie, added to eggs, salads, dressings and more.
